Two-tier benches
Old-growth Eastern Red Cedar, twenty-two inches deep. The upper bench runs the full length of the chamber so you can lie flat — six-foot-four of room. The lower acts as a step, a calf rest, and a seat for shorter sessions.

Set window
Set high enough to see the tree line, low enough to watch the first light cross the cedar floor. Tempered double-pane. The morning is the best part — we framed for it.

Huum Hive electric heater
Mounted opposite the upper bench, near the porch wall. Schedule heat-up from your phone — walk in to a fully soaked 180–195°F room. Hand-cast Estonian iron, tuned for soft löyly.

Cross-flow ventilation
Four-inch intake at floor level behind the stove. Four-inch mechanical exhaust above the upper bench, opposite wall. The Finnish standard — steady løyly, fresh oxygen, no stale air.

Recessed porch
Three feet of covered porch under the same standing-seam roof. Boots come off here. Wet towels stay outside. The chamber stays clean.

Tongue-and-groove ceiling
Same cedar as the walls, sourced from one Kentucky sawmill. The room smells like the wood it's made of for the first six months. After that, the cedar stays — softer, settled.

In Louisville we raise barrels, turn bats, and build rooms. Same hands, same wood, same patience. Rooster builds architectural saunas inspired by Nordic ritual and crafted in Louisville, Kentucky — numbered, signed, built to last generations.
The first Miller was built for our own back yard. So was its spec. We weren't looking to start a sauna company. We wanted one room, properly made — cedar from a Kentucky sawmill, two-tier benches, a window that found the morning. The Miller Series is that room, made repeatable.
A commission is the other path — a build that breaks the blueprint. A footprint that wraps a slope. A roofline that hides under a tree. An indoor build inside an existing structure. We take a small number each year.

We build each Rooster to order. Sticking with our standard components — door, window, cedar profile, shake, hardware, heater family — keeps your build faster and your price tighter. Bring us a custom design and we'll build that too. It takes longer and costs more. We'll price it at no charge.
